Who was the Ḥakham/Rabbi of Bevis Marks in 1857? I see that Benjamin Artom's tenure began in the 1860s, but I am not finding any of those leading the synagogue immediately before him. (There must be a list or resource somewhere that lists these men, but I have been unsuccessful in locating it.)

During World War II, Rabbi David de Sola Pool worked on behalf of the National Jewish Welfare Board in preparing siddurim for US Armed Forces. He also composed this prayer which I just located in an anthology of mainly Christian prayers, but with six or so prayers by Jews (almost all rabbis).
